Honey-glazed teriyaki chicken is a Japanese-American fusion dish. It has deep roots in traditional Japanese cooking, and this recipe is more of a global or “Westernised” adaptation of the original.
Ingredients for Honey Glazed Teriyaki Chicken:
- Chicken breast – Half kg
- Corn flour – 2 big spoons
Salt and Pepper powder – As per taste
For Teriyaki Sauce:
- Soya sauce – 3 big spoons
Vinegar – 2 big spoons
Honey – 2 big spoons
Sugar – 2 small spoons
Water – 3 big spoons - Spring onion chopped – 1 big spoon
Ginger and garlic chopped into round pieces – 1 big spoon each
Crushed Chillies – 1 big spoon - Oil – As required
- Spring onion chopped – 1 big spoon
- White sesame seeds – 1 small spoon
How to prepare Honey Glazed Teriyaki Chicken?
- Clean the chicken breast and cut it into thin, lengthy pieces.
- Marinate chicken using ingredients 2 and allow it to rest.
- To prepare the teriyaki sauce, first mix ingredients 3, followed by ingredients 4.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken.
- When it turns crispy, add Teriyaki sauce to it and boil it.
- Continue cooking until the water is absorbed.
- Put off the flame and decorate the chicken using spring onion and white sesame seeds.
