Ghee Gun powder idli

Ingredients for Ghee-Gun Powder-Idli (Podi Idli):

1. Idlis – 8 nos 

2. Ghee – 5 small spoons 

3. Chutney powder (Gun powder) – 2 to 3 small spoons 

4. Oil – 1 tablespoon 

5. Mustard seeds – 1 small spoon 

6. Urad dal – 1 small spoon 

    Curry leaves – As needed 

    Onion – 1, chopped 

7. Salt – As needed 

    Chilli powder – ¼ small spoon 

    Chutney powder (Gun powder) – 1 small spoon 

8. Coriander leaves – Chopped, as needed

How to prepare Ghee-Gun Powder-Idli (Podi Idli)?

1. Cut the idlis into pieces. You can also use mini idlis instead. 

2. Mix the idlis with 2 to 3 small spoons of ghee and keep aside. 

3. Add chutney powder according to spice preference, and mix well. Keep aside for 10 minutes. 

4. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. 

5. Add the ingredients listed under 6, and sauté well. 

6. Add the 7th set of ingredients and mix. 

7. Add the idlis and stir well until evenly coated. 

8. Sprinkle coriander leaves, drizzle the remaining ghee on top of your Podi Idli, and serve hot.
