Crab Rasam

It looks weird – Rasam using crabs? Rasam is widely regarded as a vegetarian curry, and it’s prepared in different styles as well. How can rasam turn non-vegetarian? This non-veg rasam is prepared by tribal people, and they are use young chicks to prepare the same, and here is the recipe.

Ingredients for Crab Rasam:

1. Small crabs – 5

    Salt – For taste

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

2. Pepper powder – 1 small spoon

3. Cumin seeds – ½ small spoon

4. Red chillies – 4              

5. Garlic – 1, as whole

6. Green coriander – 25 gm

7. Shallots chopped – 5

8. Oil – 2 small spoons

How to prepare Crab Rasam (Jnandu Rasam)?

1. Clean crabs, crush it, and later cook it adding salt, water and turmeric powder.

2. Slightly fry pepper, cumin seeds and red chillies and then crush it with garlic and coriander seeds.

3. Heat oil and sauté shallots. Then add crushed masala along with cooked crabs.

4. If you need excess water, you can add it well.

5. Boil the crab rasam well and serve it hot.
