Chicken Curry

Ingredients for Chicken Curry:

  1. Coconut oil – 3 big spoons
  2. Onion – 2 small, chopped fine
    Garlic – 4 cloves, chopped fine
    Ginger – 1-inch piece, chopped fine
  3. Meat masala – 2.5-3 big spoons
    Chilli powder – 2 small spoons
    Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
    Cinnamon – 1 piece
    Tomato – 3-4, chopped fine
    Salt – For taste
  4. Chicken – 1 kg, cut into pieces
  5. Coconut milk – ¾ cup
    Water – ½ cup

How to prepare Chicken Curry?

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 2.
  2. When onions turn soft, add ingredients no: 3 and cook for 8-10 minutes.
  3.  Stir occasionally so that the contents won’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
  4. When the raw smell goes out, and the masala is well-cooked, add chicken pieces and mix the contents well.
  5. When the chicken turns light brown, add coconut milk and water.
  6. When it boils, add salt and reduce the flame.
  7. Cook chicken in a low flame till it’s done.
  8. If you want more gravy, add excess water as the last step. If you want a dry dish, cook the chicken until the water content is fully absorbed.

Ingredients for Chicken Curry (Recipe 2):

  1. Coconut oil – 4 big spoons
  2. Onion – 4, chopped
    Green chillies – 4, chopped
    Ginger-garlic paste – 2 big spoons
    Salt – As per taste
  3. Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon
    Coriander powder – ¾ big spoon
    Chicken masala – 1 big spoon
  4. Tomato – 1, chopped
    Chicken – 1 kg, cut into pieces
  5.  Water – 1.5 cups
  6. Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
    Black pepper powder – ½ small spoon

How to prepare Chicken Curry (Recipe 2)?

  1. Heat oil in an urli and sauté ingredients no: 2.
  2.  When onions are well sauted, add ingredients no: 3 and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Add tomato, salt and chicken, and sauté for a while.
  4. Add water and allow the contents to boil.
  5.  Close the lid and cook the chicken for 20 minutes.
  6. When the chicken is well-cooked, add curry leaves and pepper powder.
  7.  Stir the curry and turn off the flame.
