Chakka Kumbilappam (Jackfruit Kumbilappam)

Ingredients for Chakka Kumbilappam (Jackfruit Kumbilappam):

1. Jackfruit – 1.5 kg

2. Sugar – 1 kg

3. Coconut – 1

4. Cardamom powder – As required

5. Rice flour – 2 cups

    Coconut paste – From 1 coconut

    Cumin paste – 1 big spoon

    Toddy (Palm wine) – 2 cups

6. Bay leaf (Vayana Ila/Karuka Ila) – As required

How to prepare Chakka Kumbilappam (Jackfruit Kumbilappam)?

1. Make a smooth paste of jackfruit.

2. Place jack fruit in flame.

3. Add sugar, coconut scrapped and cardamom powder to jackfruit and mix it well.

4. Fry the contents till water content is almost absorbed.

5. Add this jackfruit to ingredients no: 5 and mix well to prepare the batter.

6. Allow it to ferment for 6 hours.

7. Fill the batter in bay leaf cups and steam cook to prepare delicious jackfruit kumbilappam.
