
Ingredients for Banana Chutney (Madhura Chammanthi):
1. Kerala Banana (Ethapazham) – 1
Banana leaf – 1
2. Tamarind and salt – As needed
3. Red chillies – 3
Salt powder – A little
Shallots – 2
4. Oil – A little
5. Mustard, curry leaves, shallots, ginger, cumin seeds
6. Coconut -1/2, grated
7. Oil – A little
How to prepare Banana Chutney (Madhura Chammanthi)?
1. Wrap the banana in a banana leaf and put it in the fire coal to cook.
2. Remove the skin of the banana and add salt and tamarind.
3. Mix all ingredients together.
4. Burn red chillies by placing them in direct flame.
5. Add a little salt and powder it using a grinding stone.
6. Crush 2 shallots along with it.
7. Add this mixture to the banana.
8. Heat oil and fry ingredients no: 5.
9. Add grated coconut and fry till tender brown.
10. Once it’s done, add it to the banana mixture and mix well.
11. Pour a little more oil and roll to round shape, and serve.
