Now it’s everyone’s practice to rush to the nearby medical store to buy painkillers even for simple troubles. Such painkillers give temporary relief for sure. But have you ever thought of those dangers that may be invited along with those medicines as a part of self-treatment? Also, such treatments may offer you many side effects, free! Self-treatment is always dangerous, even for minute reasons. It’s better to consult a doctor before taking such pills because conditions and the health of your body may not remain the same as it was a few days back. Let me give you a few points to note while taking painkillers.

Take Note of These Points While Taking Painkillers

Taking Painkillers

1. Some painkillers, though, give relief, may have side effects like asthma and may increase blood pressure. Also, if taken with other medicines, they may give rise to problems. So, always take painkillers under the strict instructions of doctors.

2. Certain painkillers may be effective for adults. But it doesn’t mean that such medicines in minute quantities will be effective for kids. So never give adults’ painkillers to kids without a doctor’s prescription.

3. While you are consulting a doctor for a particular disease, give him the details of all medicines, including painkillers, that you are taking. Thus, we can assure 100% that all painkillers won’t work in reverse with the addition of a new prescription.

4. Very often, pain is the indicator of another disease, and if such conditions persist for a long period, it’s better to consult a doctor than suppress those symptoms using painkillers. Otherwise, the doctor may not be able to detect such symptoms easily. So, never suppress such disease symptoms with self-treatment.

5. Never use painkillers daily. In the long term, they make our body weak. It’s better to avoid the use of painkillers as much as possible and develop a healthy habit of self-tolerance. Try to withstand a little pain without the aid of such medicines. Yet if it has crossed the limit, consult a doctor instead of solely depending on painkillers.

6. Regular intake of aspirin may lead to stomach ulcers, a burning effect of heart and internal bleeding.

7. If you use antibiotics in excess, disease-causing germs fight against antibiotics, and those that survive in the battle develop self-immunity power. If so, when the same disease affects the body after a short time, the same dosage of antibiotics will not be sufficient enough and we need to give an extra dose to make the treatment effective. So, it’s better to give high doses of medicines and antibiotics in the second or third attempt than to give the body an opportunity to fight against it. Let your body fight and earn a little immunity rather than relying on medicines always.

N.B: Though I have added a few points on the use of painkillers, I suggest you to seek the opinion of a medical doctor before giving such decisions a second thought. Let him give you a better opinion. Thank you.
