Wafa Khatheeja Rahman is a budding actress of Malayalam cinema, who appeared in the movies Pathinettaam Padi (2019) and Varane Avashyamund (2020), and both these roles got noticed. Pathinettaam Padi marked her debut in a lead role, and she made an impressive performance as the college student Angel in this movie. She played the brief role of Dulquer Salman’s girlfriend in 2020 super hit film, Varane Avashyamund. She is originally based in Mangalore.

Wafa Khatheeja Rahman hails from Mangalore, Karnataka. Her father, Abdul Khader is a hotelier in profession based in Thiruvananthapuram. He is originally a Keralite, and a native of Bayar, Kasargod district. Her mother is a homemaker. She belongs to Beary Muslim community, and the language is spoken in the districts of Mangalore and Kasaragod.
She is the granddaughter of M. B. Abdul Rahman, a renowned lawyer and former president of Byari Sahitya Academy. Following her grandfather’s footsteps she pursued her LLB studies and is currently studying at National University of Legal Studies in Thiruvananthapuram. Inspired by her grandfather, she is involved in social activities like blood camps. Wafa completed her education from Thiruvananthapuram, where her father was busy in business.
She got her first break in films at the age of 22

Wafa, a law student never thought of joining films. However her childhood friend and noted Malayalam actress Ahaana Krishna convinced her to take the screen test called by Shankar Ramakrishnan for a movie. Choreographer Sajna Najam whom she knew since childhood also suggested her to attend the screen test. It was for the first time ever she faced camera lens, and she was nervous too. Later she bagged the pivot role of Angel in the movie. She was 22 when she got the first break to acting, and she shared screen space with Mammootty for her first movie.
She bagged her second role through Anoop Sathyan’s Varane Avashyamund. Though her role as DQ’s modern girlfriend was brief, her screen presence got noticed. She was doing her final year LLB when she bagged the role. Anoop Sathyan was in search of a non-Malayali girl to play Dulquer’s GF in the movie, and his assistant Jithin suggested her name.

1. She played a Beary girl in the movie, Varane Avashyamund and also got the opportunity to deliver a few lines in her mother tongue. Many scenes shot in Beary got edited out in the final version. Interestingly, her name in the movie was her real name, Wafa.
2. Her paternal grandfather was the first chairman of Beary Sahithya Academy.
3. She loves music, dance and theatre. Yet acting was never in her plans.
4. Though she appeared in a couple of Malayalam movies, she is not so proficient in Malayalam.
