
Ingredients for Cherupayar Mulappichathu + Chicken Curry (Sprouted Green Gram + Chicken Curry):
For Sprouted Green Gram:
- Sprouted green gram – 1 cup
- Onions – 2, chopped fine
Green chilli – 1, chopped fine
Salt – For taste
For Chicken Curry:
- Chicken – 1 kg, cut into pieces
- Red chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
Garam masala powder – 1/2 small spoon
Salt – For taste - Coconut oil – As required
- Shallots chopped – 2 cups
Curry leaves – As required
Salt – For taste - Ginger chopped fine – 1 big spoon
Garlic chopped fine – 1 big spoon - Chilli powder – 2 big spoons
Coriander powder – 1 big spoon
Garam masala powder – 1 small spoon
Fennel powder – ½ small spoon
Pepper powder – 1 small spoon
Fenugreek powder – A pinch - Tomato – 2, made to a fine paste
- Water – As required
- Mustard – ½ small spoo
Shallots – 2, chopped into round pieces
Red chillies – 2, split into two
Curry leaves – A stalk
How to prepare Cherupayar Mulappichathu + Chicken Curry (Sprouted Peas + Chicken Curry)?
- Steam cook sprouted green gram for 5 minutes.
- Add onions, green chillies, and salt, and mix them well.
- Clean chicken and marinate with ingredients no: 4.
- Allow it to rest for half an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan, and sauté shallots, curry leaves, and salt.
- When shallots turn brown, add ginger and garlic and sauté again.
- Add ingredients no: 8 to it and sauté again.
- Add tomatoes, and when they turn dry, add chicken and mix for 2 more minutes.
- Add sufficient water and cook the chicken with the lid closed.
- Heat oil in a pan, and sauté ingredients no: 11, and add to the curry.
- You can serve sprouted green gram with chicken curry.
