Sravana – Malayalam film actress of ‘Thattumpurath Achuthan’ fame

Sravana is a Malayalam film actress who marked her debut with 2018 hit comedy film, Thattumpurath Achuthan. She was paired opposite Kunchacko Boban in her debut flick and her role got noticed. The movie was directed by Lal Jose. She is the daughter of noted Malayalam director Babu Narayanan, who is associated with Anil (former husband of actress Kalpana) to form the director duo, Anil Babu. The duo has given many super hit films to Malayalam cinema since late 1980s; Pattabhishekam, Mayilpeelikkavu, Radholsavam, Injakkadan Mathai & Sons, Sakshal Sreeman Chathunni, Sthreedhanam etc to name a few.

On a family get-together she exhibited her singing and dancing skills before her family members. When it was shown on LED wall, it was switched on by Lal Jose who got impressed by her and with family’s permission gave her the first break to films.

Sravana – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. The character Jayalakshmi in Lal Jose film is a devotee of Lord Krishna, and that’s why she gave ‘yes’ nod without any hesitation. She is also a devotee of Lord Krishna in real life. She believes that Lord Krishna interferes in almost all important things of her life.

2. Her father never thought that Sravana would become an actress. He felt that she would become a singer. Since young, Sravana used to sing.

3. She was initially given the name Lakshmi. After identifying her singing talents, her parents changed her name to Sravana. Interestingly she played the character Jayalakshmi in her debut flick.

4. She has one younger brother Darshan, interested in camera and films. Initially he was given the name Vishnu, and his name was changed because of his interest in camera. He has now completed cinematography course from an institute in Chennai.

5. Darshan worked as a camera assistant for Sravana’s debut flick, Thattumpurath Achuthan and this job was offered by Lal Jose.

6. Her director father is fighting with cancer for the last four years.

7. She is doing MA literature at Sahrudaya College, Kodakara.
