Shruti Sharma – Telugu film actress of ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’ fame

Shruti Sharma is a film and television actress, who works in Hindi and Telugu entertainment industry. She came to limelight for the first time after she participated in India’s Next Superstars, where she finished as a runner up and also received a special mention. In 2019 she marked both her television and film debut as an actress. Gathbandhan (2019) marked her TV debut, where she played the protagonist ACP Dhanak Parekh. Same year she marked her big screen debut with south Indian film, ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’ co-starring Naveen Polishetty and this comedy thriller was a box office hit. Gathbandhan (2019) marked Shruti’s TV debut

Shruti Sharma hails from Lucknow, UP. She was born in 1994. She debut small screen as a contestant through the talent hunt show, India’s Next Superstars in 2018. After finishing as first runner up of the show, she received offers from both movies and television and she accepted both. Gathbandhan (2019) was her first TV show, which went off the air after telecasting 226 episodes. Abrar Qazi played her hero in this show.

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya – Gave her a big break to Telugu cinema

Same year she also marked her big screen debut with hit Telugu film, ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’ which told the story of a detective and his investigation. She was spotted by director Swaroop RSJ performing ‘Charlie Chaplin’ act in one of her shows, and zeroed her for the lead role. She played Naveen Polishetty’s assistant in this movie with some comic shades, and her role was well received. She marks her Bollywood debut with 2020 film, Pagglait co-starring Sanya Malhotra, Ashutosh Rana and Raghubir Yadav. She also appeared in horror TV series, Nazar 2 in 2020, and she played the parallel role of Palak Verma Chaudhary.

Shruti Sharma – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She is a classical dancer trained in Bharatnatyam and a diploma holder in creative writing and acting.

2. She started writing, directing and acting in plays at an early age.

3. Soon after her appearance in the show, India’s Next Superstars, she appeared in the music video, Main Hua Tera, co-starring Avitesh Shrivastava.

4. After the show, India’s Next Superstars, she revealed that she received a lot of discrimination while doing the show because she belongs to Lucknow.

5. She always wanted to become an actress right from childhood and has always loved to face camera.

6. At first her parents were not willing to send her to Mumbai to pursue her dreams. Finally they granted her two years and asked her to return if she fails to get the job.

7. She changed her career option, and took up arts and learnt Bharatanatyam for two years, as her father was initially reluctant to send her to cine world.

8. She received a special mention award from her mentors Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty, after she lost in the final round of India’s Next Superstars. Aman Gandotra and Natasha Bharadwaj were declared as winners.

9. In Bollywood she wants to do a movie with Ranbir Kapoor. She is a big fan of Bollywood ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
