Brown rice is good for health. When it is combined with ragi for a breakfast dish, its benefits are doubled. Steamed items never consume oil, and as they lock their food flavours and nutrients inside, they can provide you a healthy and complete breakfast. Ragi putt is one such, and you can use chickpeas curry, vegetable stew, or banana or any other side dish as a combo. In this recipe, brown rice is used. Ingredients for Ragi Brown Putt (Ragi Steam Cake):
1. Chempa Puttu Powder (Brown rice Puttu Powder) – 1 cup
Ragi powder – ½ cup
2. Salt and sugar – For taste
3. Coconut – ½, grated
How to prepare Ragi Brown Putt (Ragi Steam Cake)?
1. Take both the powders in a big bowl.
2. Add salt and sugar to it and mix the contents well.
3. Add water a big spoon each, and slowly mix the powders without forming lumps.
4. Also, add a little grated coconut while mixing.
5. Place it aside for some time.
6. Now fill the cylinder of the puttu maker with grated coconut and flour as alternate layers.
7. Steam cook your ragi putt and serve hot with vegetable stew or bananas.
