Prawn Roast recipe

Ingredients for Prawn Roast:

  1. Cleaned prawns – 200 gm
  2. Onions chopped fine – 100 gm
  3. Green chillies chopped fine – 2
  4. Garlic paste – 2 tsp
  5. Ginger paste – 1 tsp
  6.  Tomato – 2
  7. Fennel powder – 1 tsp
  8. Thick coconut milk – ½ cup
  9. Chilli powder – 3 tsp
  10. Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  11. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  12. Coriander leaves – 2 tsp
  13. Refined oil – 4 tablespoons
  14. Salt – For taste

How to prepare Prawn Roast?

  1. Marinate prawns using 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp garlic paste, a little salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Allow it to rest for a few minutes.
  3. Heat oil and sauté onions and green chillies.
  4. When it’s almost done, add garlic paste and ginger paste, followed by powders.
  5. Sauté for a few minutes and add marinated prawns.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and salt, and continue sauting till a thin layer of oil appears.
  7. Add half a cup of water and cook the prawns.
  8. When it’s done, add coconut milk and reduce the flame.
  9. When the curry thickens, add coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
  10. Serve with rice, pathiri or any main course dish of your choice.
