Pacha Maanga Lonchi recipe

Ingredients for Pacha Maanga Lonchi:

  1. Green mango – 1 cut into 8 pieces after removing skin
  2. Coconut oil – 2 small spoons
  3. Cumin seeds – 1 pinch
  4. Cloves – 1 pinch
  5. Garlic – 2 cloves
  6. Shallots – 2 (finely chopped)
  7. Chilli powder – ½ tsp
  8. Salt – As per taste
  9. Jaggery solution – After melting and filtering, ½ cup
  10. Pepper powder – ½ small spoon
  11. Garam masala powder – ½ small spoon
  12. Mint leaves – To decorate

How to prepare Pacha Maanga Lonchi?

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and cloves, one pinch each.
  2. Sauté for a few seconds till it gets fried, and add garlic and chopped shallots. Sauté again.
  3. Add cut mango pieces to it, chilli powder and salt, and cook it for 5 minutes with the lid closed.
  4. Stir well, adding half a cup of jaggery solution.
  5. When it starts thickening, add garam masala and pepper powder and stir well.
  6. Decorate with pudina leaves and turn off the flame.
