Paavakka Pulincurry (Bitter gourd Tamarind Curry)

Ingredients for Paavakka Pulincurry (Bitter gourd Tamarind Curry):

1. Bitter gourd medium sized – 2

2. Tamarind juice – gooseberry sized

3. Green chillies – 2

4. Turmeric powder – As required

5. Coconut scrapped – ½

    Cumin seeds – A pinch

    Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Garlic – 2 cloves

6. Chilli powder – ¼ small spoon

    Shallots – 5, chopped

    Curry leaves – 2 stalks

    Salt – For taste

7. Oil – As required

How to prepare Paavakka Pulincurry (Bitter gourd Tamarind Curry)?

1. Cut bitter gourd to 1-inch pieces.

2. Make tamarind juice adding ¼ cup water and add it to bitter gourd pieces.

3. Cook bitter gourd adding turmeric powder and green chillies.

4. Blend once ingredients no: 5 in a mixer.

5. When bitter gourd is well cooked, add this coconut mixture to it and mix well.

6. Add ingredients no: 6 to it and cook again till it’s well done.

7. Take off your curry from flame and pour a little coconut oil.

8. Keep the lid closed for a while before you serve the curry.
