Oats Khichdi recipe

Ingredients for Oats Khichdi:

1. Ghee – 2 small spoons

2. Cumin – 1 small spoon

3. Ginger-garlic paste – 1 small spoon

4. Onion – ½

5. Green chilli – 1

6. Carrot and tomato – 1 each

7. Beans – 4

8. Green peas – 3 big spoons

9. Turmeric powder and chilli powder – ½ spoon each

10. Salt – For taste

11. Green gram dal – ½ cup, soaked in water for half an hour

12. Rolled oats – 1 cup

13. Asafoetida – 1 pinch

14. Water – 4 cups

How to prepare Oats Khichdi?

1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and fry cumin seeds.

2. Add ginger-garlic paste, followed by onions and green chillies, chopped.

3. Sauté the contents and add chopped tomato.

4. When the contents are sautéed well, add chopped vegetables & green peas, and sauté for 2 minutes.

5. Add turmeric powder and chilli powder, and fry them.

6. Mix soaked dal, rolled oats, 4 cups of water and a pinch of asafoetida powder together and pour into the pressure cooker.

7. Cook till the first whistle and turn the flame off.

8. When the pressure opens to zero, open the lid.

9. Add excess water if needed.

10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
