Noble Babu Thomas – Malayalam film actor, screenwriter and producer of ‘Helen’ fame

Noble Babu Thomas is a film producer, screenwriter and writer of Malayalam cinema, who came to the limelight after he made an impressive screen debut through the 2019 survival thriller, Helen. He played the role of Azhar, Helen Paul’s boyfriend (played by Anna Ben) in the film. Along with Vineeth Srinivasan, he has also produced this movie, which opened to positive reviews and was a commercial success.

He has earlier produced the films, Jacabinte Swargarajyam (directed by Vineeth Srinivasan) and Aravindante Athidhikal (Vineeth Srinivasan played the lead role). Noble also co-scripted Helen, aside Alfred Kurian Joseph and its director Mathukutty Xavier, who marks his directorial debut with this thriller.

Noble Babu Thomas was born on 30 May 1984 in Thiruvalla, Kerala. Babu Thomas and Suma Babu are his parents. Since college days, he was interested in acting and got into the modelling field. He completed Electrical and Electronics Engineering from KCG College of Technology, Chennai. In those days, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Aju Varghese were his batchmates. Later, the trio collaborated on many projects. As he was interested in acting and modelling, he also graduated from the Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore, after his engineering studies.

He dreamt of becoming an actor, but joined the film industry as a producer

He joined the film industry as a producer. He started his own production house, Big Bang Entertainments in 2015. Jacabinte Swargarajyam starring Nivin Pauley was his debut film, which was a commercial success. His batch mate Vineeth Sreenivasan directed the film, and also played a brief role. His second venture, Aravindante Athidhikal, with Vineeth was also a commercial hit.

2. Noble and his batch mates – Vineeth Sreenivasan and Aju Varghese joined hands for the first time for the 2019 movie, Helen. While Aju played a rare, serious, and grey-shaded role of his career, Vineeth played the cameo role of a convict. The trio had some combination scenes, filmed in the police station too.

3. Noble, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and Aju Varghese knew each other for around 17-18 years, right from engineering days. They met for the first time in 2002 at KCG College of Technology in Chennai. They were batch mates and lived in the same hostel.

4. Helen – The movie was distributed by Funtastic Films, owned by Aju Varghese. Noble is a co-producer of the film.

5. Though he has not been a part of Malarvadi Arts Club and Thattathin Marayath, he was closely associated with Vineeth Sreenivasan, right from those days, though in the background. He slowly learnt the different processes associated with filmmaking, and became a part of film industry. Thus he launched his own film production company.
