Nivetha Pethuraj – Popular south Indian film actress of ‘Tik Tik Tik’ and ‘Mental Madhilo’ fame

Nivetha Pethuraj is a leading south Indian film actress who works in Tamil and Telugu movies. She marked her screen debut with Tamil movie, Oru Naal Koothu (2016) in a parallel lead role, and later worked in a dozen of movies in the next 5 years. A few of her movies are waiting for theatre release. Mental Madhilo in 2017 marked her impressive debut in Telugu cinema. Podhuvaga Emmanasu Thangam, Tik Tik Tik, Thimiru Pudichavan, Sangathamizhan and Pon Manickavel are among her Tamil releases, while her performance in Telugu flicks – Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Chitralahari and Brochevarevarura also got noticed.

A successful model turned film actress

Nivetha Pethuraj was born in Madhurai, Tamil Nadu in 1991. She was raised in Thoothukudi and Dubai. She moved to Dubai at the age of 11, where she lived for next 10 years. While at Dubai she started her career as a model and won Miss India UAE pageant, which gave her a major break to movies. In her debut movie, Oru Naal Koothu she shared screen space with Dinesh, Miya and Abhinav. Later she appeared in a series of Tamil and Telugu movies and is now a well-established name in south Indian film industry.

Nivetha Pethuraj – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She has worked as a professional fitness instructor before joining films. She has also served as VIP hostess for events organized by fashion brands.

2. She started her modelling career in Dubai, and in her opinion, turned an introvert after she settled in Chennai.

3. She grew up as an atheist. However, while at college she happened to attend a ritual ceremony along with her parents in her native village, which changed her perceptions till then. After that she is more spiritual and now prefers minimalism.
