Prawns Pulav (Chemmeen Pulav)

Ingredients for Prawns Pulav (Chemmeen Pulav):

1. Biryani rice – 3.5 cups

2. Ghee – ½ cup

3. Cinnamon – 1 piece

    Cloves – 6

    Cardamom – 6

4. Salt – As required

5. Hot water – 7 cups

For Prawns Masala:

6. Oil – ½ cup

7. Onions – 4, chopped

    Tomatoes – 2, chopped

    Green chillies – 6, split into two

    Ginger – 1-inch piece chopped

    Garlic – 1 as whole, chopped

8. Prawns cleaned – ½ kg

    Salt – As required

9. Curd – ¼ cup

How to prepare Prawns Pulav (Chemmeen Pulav)?

1. Wash rice and drain off excess water.

2. Heat ghee and splutter ingredients no: 3.

3. Add rice and fry for 5 minutes.

4. Add salt and hot water and allow to boil.

5. Close the lid and cook in low flame.

6. When rice is well cooked, water content should be fully absorbed.

7. Heat oil and sauté ingredients no: 7.

8. When contents are well sauted, mix well adding prawns and salt.

9. When prawns are half cooked, add curd and cook for 2 minutes.

10. Then boil till water content is fully evaporated.

11. Mix cooked rice with this prawn mixture and serve hot.
