Bread Modakam


Ingredients for Bread Modakam:

 
1. Bread slices – 15
2. Jaggery -1/2 kg
3. Coconut scrapped – 1
4. Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
    Cashews broken – 50 g
    Raisins – 50 g
5. Oil – To Fry
 

How to prepare Bread Modakam?

 
1. Cut the edges of bread.
2. Heat jaggery and filter.
3. Add scrapped coconut to it and sauté well with a spatula. Then mix well ingredients no: 4 to prepare the filling.
4. Take some water in a bowl and dip each piece of bread in it. Then squeeze of water and make balls out of it. 
5. Complete the process with each bread piece.
6. Make a trough in each ball using your fingers and fill a little filling inside it, and cover again to make a ball again. Repeat with all balls.
7. Heat oil in a pan, and fry each ball to golden brown colour.
8. Drain off excess oil and serve hot.
