Mutton Ularthu with Coconut Milk

 

Ingredients for Mutton Ularthu with Coconut Milk:

  1. Mutton – 1 kg
  2. Coriander powder – 5 big spoons
  3. Chilli powder – 3 big spoons
  4. Turmeric powder – 2 small spoons
  5. Coconut – 1
  6. Onion sliced – 3
  7. Tomato cut into small pieces – 2
  8. Green chillies – 10
  9. Garlic – 50 gm
  10. Ginger – 25 gm
  11. Meat masala – 2 small spoons
  12. Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 small spoon
  13. Coriander leaves – 10 gm
  14. Curry leaves – 2 stems
  15. Coconut oil – as needed

Method of preparation of Mutton Ularthu with Coconut Milk:

  1. Wash the mutton well and cut it into small pieces.
  2. Add half the amount of the three powders to the mutton, add sufficient water and cook it well. Keep aside.
  3. Extract the first and second milk from the coconut.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion and tomato. When it’s sautéed, add garlic, green chillies and ginger (after crushing) and sauté again.
  5. Add the remaining powders along with a glass of water and stir well. Boil it well.
  6. When it becomes a paste, add cooked meat along with the second coconut milk.
  7. Cook till the water evaporates completely and add the first milk.
  8. Again, cook till the full water content is absorbed and the dish turns dry.
  9. Add curry leaves and turn the flame off. Pour a little coconut oil as well.
