Mixed Vegetable Thoran recipe
 

Ingredients for Mixed Vegetable Thoran:

1. Coconut oil – 3 tsp
2. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
    Red chillies – 4
    Curry leaves – 2 stalks
3. Black gram daal – 2 tsp
4. Ginger, finely chopped – 1 tsp
    Green chillies chopped – 2 tsp
5. Cabbage, finely cut – 1 cup
    Carrot, finely chopped – ½ cup
    Onions, finely chopped – ½ cup
    Half-cooked sambar daal – ¼ cup
    Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
    Chilli powder – ½ tsp
    Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
6. Salt – as required
7. Coconut, grated and crushed – ½ cup
 

How to prepare Mixed Vegetable Thoran?

1. Heat oil in a pan with a thick bottom and sauté ingredients no: 2
2. Sauté urud daal till it turns light brown.
3. Add ingredients no: 4 and sauté again.
4. Add ingredients no: 5, mix well and cook on a low flame. Stir occasionally.   
5. Add salt when it is almost done, and then add crushed coconut also.
6. Mix the contents well and turn the flame off.
7. Add one tsp coconut oil to the thoran, mix well, and serve hot.
