Methi Puri

Methi Poori Aalutamatar Jol

Ingredients for Methi Puri:

1. Wheat flour – 1 cup

2. Methi leaves – 1 cup

3. Maida – 1.5 cups

4. Fennel seeds – ½ tsp

5. Curd – 1 table spoon

6. Milk – ¼ cup

7. Oil – 1 table spoon

8. Salt – For taste

9.Oil – For deep frying

How to prepare Methi Puri?

1. Remove the stem from methi leaves and wash it well.

2. Drain off excess water and chop fine.

3. Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well.

4. Keep aside for 5 minutes and drain off excess water.

5. Knead wheat flour, maida, methi, curd, fennel seeds, salt and oil in a bowl to get soft dough.

6. Pour milk and water at the centre of the dough, after making a small pit.

7. Knead the dough again to make it softier.

8. Apply a thin coat of oil on its surface and allow it to rest for half an hour.

9. Spread puris and deep fry in hot oil.

Note: You can also substitute fennel seeds with same quantity of ajwain, to bring a different flavour to your puri.
