
Ingredients for Mathi Thilappichath (Sardine Boiled):
1. Sardine (Mathi) – ½ kg
2. Shallots chopped – 150 gm
Green chillies chopped – 10
Ginger chopped – 1 piece
Curry leaves chopped – 1 spring
3. Pot tamarind – 1 clove
4. Coconut – ½
5. Vinegar – 2 tablespoons
6. Oil – 2 tablespoons
How to prepare Mathi Thilappichath (Sardine Boiled)?
1. Clean the fish and keep it aside.
2. Extract first, second and third milk from the coconut.
3. Mix the second and third milk together.
4. Heat oil in an earthen pot and sauté ingredients no: 2.
5. Boil with second milk (and third milk) combined.
6. Add fish and pot tamarind, and cook till it’s done.
7. Add the first extract of coconut milk and turn off the flame.
8. Add vinegar and serve.
