Capsicum Thoran recipe

Ingredients for Capsicum Thoran:

  1. Capsicum cut into small pieces – 1
  2. Onion, finely chopped – 1
  3. Green chilli, finely chopped – 1
  4. Black pepper – a small tsp
  5. Sugar – ¼ tsp
  6. Salt – as per taste
  7. Grated coconut – ½ cup
  8. Mustard – ¼ tsp
  9. Dry red chilli – 1
  10. Curry leaves – 2 stems
  11. Oil – ½ tsp
  12. Coriander leaves – to garnish

How to prepare Capsicum Thoran?

  1. Heat a non-stick pan and add oil.
  2. Sauté the onion and green chillies together.
  3. When it turns brown, add capsicum, coconut and salt.
  4. Mix it well and close the lid. Cook the contents on a low flame.
  5. Heat oil in another pan and sputter mustard seeds. Add red chilli and curry leaves and mix well.
  6. Pour this oil over cooked capsicum and sprinkle sugar and pepper powder on top.
  7. Then mix the contents well and close the lid.
  8. Cook for 2 more minutes and add chopped coriander leaves.
