Mathi Kurukk recipe

Ingredients for Mathi Kurukk (Sardine Gravy):

1. Sardine (Mathi) – ½ kg

2. Coconut oil – 2 small spoons

3. Fenugreek – 1 small spoon

    Ginger crushed – 1 big spoon

    Garlic crushed – 1 big spoon

    Green chillies – 2, split into 2

    Curry leaves – 1 big spoon

    Tomato – 1, chopped

4. Coconut grated – ½ cup

    Chilli powder – 1 small spoon

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – For taste

5. Rice flour – 3 big spoons

How to prepare Mathi Kurukk (Sardine Gravy)?

1. Clean the fish and keep it aside.

2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 3.

3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 4 and add to the sauteed contents.

4. Allow it to boil, and then add fish.

5. Stir the contents well, and cook the fish till it’s done.

6. When the gravy thickens, add rice flour mixed with a little water.

7. Stir your curry well, and reduce the flame.

8. Wait till the gravy fully thickens, and blends well with the fish.

9. Serve hot.
