Mango Kaalan (Mampazha Kaalan)

Ingredients for Mango Kaalan (Mampazha Kaalan):

1. Well ripen mango fruit – 5 to 8

2. Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – For taste

    Pepper powder – 2 small spoons

3. Coconut – 1, scrapped

    Cumin seeds – 1 small spoon

4. Jaggery – 2 pieces

    Curd – 2 cups

5. Coconut oil – 1 small spoon

6. Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Fenugreek – ¼ small spoon

7. Red chillies – 2

   Curry leaves – 2 stems

How to prepare Mango Kaalan (Mampazha Kaalan)?

1. Use some countryside well ripen mangoes.

2. Peel off the skin and cook it well adding ingredients no: 2 and water.

3. Make a fine paste of cumin seeds and coconut and add to cooked mangoes.

4. Add jaggery and curd, mix well and take off from flame.

5. Heat oil and sputter mustard and fenugreek seeds.

6. Fry red chillies and curry leaves and add to curry well.

7. Mix the curry well and serve.
