Maalavika Sundar – Playback Singer and Actress

Born in 1988 and hailing from Chennai, Maalavika’s flawless vocal control stems from a rigorous foundation in Carnatic classical music. Maalavika’s journey with Carnatic music started when she was just two and a half years old. When classical music used to be played in her home, as a toddler, she started singing along. MS Subbulakshmi’s Hanuman Chalisa was one among those.
Recognizing her singing talent, her parents appreciated it and gave her formal training in classical music. She was a disciple of Padmavathi Ananthagopalan, the younger sister of Lalgudi Jayaraman. She was a professional Carnatic singer before joining the film industry.
