Kavita Kaushik – The female cop Chandramukhi Chautala in FIR TV series

Kavita Kaushik is a popular television actress associated with Hindi small screen, best known for playing female cop Chandramukhi Chautala in the investigation series, FIR and also lead role in Dr. Bhanumati On Duty. Ekta Kapoor’s Kutumb was her first TV show, and she went on to become one of the celebrated stars of Hindi television. Apart from her acting roles, she has been a part of reality shows such as Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo etc, and has done brief roles in Bollywood films. She plays lead roles in Punjabi films since 2017.

Kavita Kaushik was born and brought up in Delhi, and she got into modelling during her graduation from Indraprastha College for Women. In those days she also anchored shows and hosted events. In 2001 she moved to Mumbai and successfully auditioned for TV soap, Kutumb. She also appeared in Ekta Kapoor’s Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kumkum etc. She received major break playing Chandramukhi Chautala in F.I.R. in 2006. Her comic role as a cop with Haryanavi accent became instant hit. She hosts Savdhaan India since 2018, and has been a part of popular TV shows like Tota Weds Maina, Remix, Ye Meri Life Hai, Ghar Ek Sapna, CID etc. Currently associated with Punjabi cinema, she played lead roles in Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan, Nankana and Vekh Baraatan Challiyan.

1. Her father is a retired CRPF officer.

2. Her nickname is Mitthu.

3. Her iconic role as Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala in FIR bagged her numerous awards between 2010 and 2013, which includes Best Actor/Actress in a Comic Role at multiple award functions at different years.

4. She appeared in the item song “Shakila Banoo” for 2013 flick, Zanjeer.

5. She played Saif Ali Khan’s girlfriend in highly acclaimed thriller, Ek Hasina Thi.

6. She holds a degree in philosophy.

7. She was mostly offered glamorous and negative roles during her early days, because of her appearance and appealing personality.

8. She presented Fakebook with Kavita, a satire sketch comedy TV series.

9. She has been in a relationship with her TV co-star Karan V Grover. After the breakup she married Ronnie Biswas – her old friend in 2017.
