Harshitha Pisharody – Budding Malayalam actress of ‘Nombarakoodu’ fame

Harshitha Pisharody is a budding actress associated with Malayalam. For her first lead role in Malayalam movies, Nombarakoodu directed by Joshi Mathew, she won best actress award at Jaipur International Film Festival. She marked her screen debut as a child actress through Mammootty starrer, Parole. She has sung one song for Malayalam movie, Granny directed by Kaladharan. Her father is a music composer and her mother is a music therapist.

Harshitha Pisharody is attending children’s theatre since the age of 10

Harshitha regularly attends director Joshi Mathew’s Navyug Children’s theatre since the age of 10. She spent most of the time of her summer vacations in the acting classes arranged here. She was doing her plus-2 studies when Joshi offered her the lead role for his upcoming film, Nombarakoodu which tells the bonding between a girl and her grandfather. Her role was really challenging, flooded with multiple emotions in sequence. As she is taking acting seriously, she did a lot of hard work and made her character memorable on screen.

Both her parents are associated with the world of music

Harshitha’s mom Dr. Smitha. M. Pisharody penned one song for the movie Nombarakoodu. The song – Kaalangalere was composed by her father Jayan Pisharody. It’s the single song included in Nombarakoodu. Dr. Smitha was formerly a media person, who later took PhD in music therapy. Now she currently serves as Assistant Professor at Interuniversity Centre for Science of Music, M. G. University.

Harshitha Pisharody’s father is into music industry for past two decades. He composed music for 15 films. This musician received Kerala state award for best background score for short films in year 2012. The couple together has done several musical albums, belonging to kids and devotional categories. Harshitha has rendered her voice for a few of those songs too. She is fond of western music.

Harshita has acted in a few short films. She is into modelling too. She is doing graduation in anthropology at Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram. Two movies are in pipeline. Moonwalk is her upcoming release. She wishes to do movies, along with her studies. Kottayam is her hometown. Achu is her nickname.
