Gurshabad – Punjabi playback singer and supporting actor

Gurshabad is an actor and playback singer from Punjabi cinema and independent music since 2015. He rendered his voice for some of popular Punjabi film songs such as Laari in Vekh Baraatan Challiyan, Tappay in Sat Sri Akaal England and Selfie in Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua. Marked his screen debut in a supporting role in Angrej in 2015, Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua, Ashke and Chal Mera Putt are his film releases later. Milne Di Rutt, Jatta Jaag, Geetkariyan and Tarakiyaan are among his released singles.

Gurshabad was born in Rampur Bhootwind village, of Amritsar in 1989. He started singing and practising music at the age of 10. Initially he learnt Sikh religious songs. He collaborated with Ammy Virk to release his first single – Vaar Bhagat Singh in 2015. Milne Di Rutt in 2016 is his first solo song, and Rajya from 2017 film Sarvann marked his playback singing debut. He got recognition as a playback singer through Laari in Vekh Baraatan Challiyan, and many more film songs came him way.

Gurshabad – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. His full name is Gurshabad Singh Kular.

2. He composed the single – Jatta Jaag, apart from rendering his voice. He has also written lyrics for his songs.

3. He owns a Master’s degree in music from Guru Nanak Dev University.

4. He is a vegetarian.

5. Though he is mostly associated with playback singing, he loves singing Punjabi folk most.
