
Ingredients for Fruit Crumble:
- Apple, after skin removed and cut into pieces – 200 gm
- Pineapple pieces – 200 gm
- Banana big (Ethakka/Nenthrapazham)– 200 gm
- Orange after removing seeds and skin – 200 gm
- Lemon juice – of ½ lemon
- Sugar – 100 gm
- Raisins without seeds – 50 gm
- Lemon skin scraped – ½
- Vanilla essence – ½ small spoon
- Butter – 100 gm
- Cinnamon powder – 1 small spoon
How to prepare Fruit Crumble?
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Apply a little butter or oil to the baking dish.
- Mix butter, maida and 50 gm sugar in a dish using your finger tips, and prepare toppings.
- Apply lemon juice to the apple pieces to avoid colour change.
- Mix 50 gm sugar, raisins and scraped lemon skin with these apple pieces.
- If you want extra flavour for the apple, add a little more sugar, cinnamon powder and vanilla essence.
- Heat 3 big spoons of sugar in a pan and when it changes brown, add ½ cup of hot water and caramelise it.
- Add pineapple and banana pieces to it. Mix well and take it from the flame.
- Mix the apple pieces and orange, and spread them in a pudding dish along with the above sugar-fruit mixture.
- Spread topping on the top and bake for 45 minutes.
- When it turns golden colour, take it from the oven and decorate it using cream, custard or ice cream and serve. Also read: Toffee Crumble
