Assim Jamal is a film actor associated with Mollywood, best known for playing grey and negative shades onscreen. His association with Prithviraj has given him some of the memorable roles in Malayalam cinema, of which his negative role as a police officer in the hit film Anarkali gave him a major break. Assim Jamal hails from Thrissur, Kerala. Since young he was a movie buff who loved watching movies in the theatre and later he became a part of several street plays. Worked as a banker abroad for a while, his career in films started with Kurukshetra in 2008, where he played a negative character Hydher, a Pakistani official. From there on he started accepting minor negative roles till he got his big break through Anwar.
