Aloo Tomatar Jol recipe

Methi Puri & Aalu Tomatar Jol

Ingredients for Aloo Tomatar Jol:

1. Oil – 2 tablespoons

2. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

3. Fenugreek – ¼ tsp

4. Onions chopped – ¼ cup

5. Ginger paste – From 1 piece

6. Garlic – 2 cloves

7. Green chillies – 2

8. Tomato chopped – 2

9. Potato boiled – 4

10. Coriander powder – ½ tsp

11. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

12. Chilli powder – 1 tsp

13. Water – 1.25 cups

14. Salt – As needed

15. Oil – 2 tablespoons

How to prepare Aloo Tomatar Jol?

1. Make a fine paste of tomato using a mixer.

2. Heat oil in a pan, and sputter cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds.

3. Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies.

4. Sauté till the raw smell goes out.

5. Add onions and sauté again.

6. When it is done, add tomato paste and sauté till the raw smell goes out.

7. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt and sauté in a low flame for 4 minutes.

8. Add chopped potatoes and water.

9. Cook the ingredients for 6 more minutes on a low flame.

10. When the gravy turns thick, take it off the flame and decorate with coriander leaves.
