Snacks Using Idli Batter
Pazham Appam:

Add a little grated coconut, chopped big banana pieces, jaggery for taste and cardamom powder to the idli batter and mix well. Take a Unniyappam maker, heat it and add a little ghee to each mould. Pour a little batter into each mould till it reaches 3/4th. When one side is cooked, flip once and cook the other side too. You can make this appam in different batches until the batter is finished.
Veg Pancake:
Chop some onion, carrot, green chillies, ginger and capsicum. Grate some cooked potatoes. Add these ingredients to the idli batter. Add some crushed chillies, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, and sufficient salt, and mix the batter. Heat a pan and pour a little oil. Pour one big spoon of batter, spread it thick and prepare pancakes. Continue the process for the remaining batter. You can also add finely chopped tomatoes if you want.
Spot Idli:
Chop a little onion and tomato into fine pieces and sauté them in a pan, adding a little oil. Add chopped curry leaves, red chilli powder and chutney powder along with sufficient salt and mix well. Divide this mixture to four equal parts, and spread a little bit. Pour one spoon of batter into each part, and cook it with the lid closed. Flip once and cook the other side too.
