25+ Natural beauty packs from your kitchen

When you are in kitchen, the space exclusively belongs to you. If you take a little spare time from your kitchen activities, you can find some excellent natural beauty packs from kitchen itself with cheap cost. Solution to pimples, black marks on face and wrinkles – there are instant solutions for almost every beauty problem belonging to different age groups. Here I present 25 such natural beauty packs which you can prepare using ingredients from kitchen.

1. Coconut milk for dandruff treatment – When you extract coconut milk for your cooking purposes keep two big spoons aside. When you are free, grind half portion of gooseberry, grind it and add to coconut milk. Apply on your hair and scalp, and completely wrap your head using a towel for next 10-20 minutes. Wash it off using cold water. Do this process continuously thrice to get better results. Dandruff will be completely removed. If you have cold related issues, keep this pack only for a few minutes, and wash it off quickly.

2. Cucumber is the best pack for dry skin – When you cut cucumber for Sambar, Avial or Pulissery, you will put the seed part (pulp) entirely into waste bin. But do you know it’s an excellent pack for dry skin? Add a little milk membrane to the cucumber pulp and apply on face, hands and legs. You can wash it off after 20 minutes.

3. Carrot and tomato to remove pimple marks – When you take carrot and tomato to make some curry, keep two pieces aside. Smash it well adding a little honey and then add rice flour. Use it as a face pack and allow it to dry. Moist your fingers first and then massage in circular shapes. Pimple marks will slowly disappear and adds glow to your face. It can also act as an excellent scrub.

4. Green gram powder for oily skin – Do you have oily skin? Can you feel it when you touch your face with fingers? When you add green gram powder to enhance the taste of dal curry, keep a spoon of it aside for your beauty kit. Add a little turmeric powder and water and make a paste. Use it as a face pack and wash it off after 20 minutes. It helps to remove the oil from skin and makes it soft.

5. Banana for shiny skin – When you buy Kerala banana (big sized banana) for your kitchen, take one of them and smash it well using a spoon. Add 2 small spoons of chilled milk to it and mix well. Keep it aside for 5 minutes, and then use it as a beauty pack for knees, face and neck. Wash it off after 20 minutes, and get a well-polished and glowing skin.

6. Bread slices for sun tans – Take a bread slice and remove its edges. Soak it in half glass milk and keep aside for 2 hours. Mix it well using hands to get a paste. Apply on face, hands and legs, and wash it off after 20 minutes. It’s a quick remedy to sun tans and all skin problems related to exposure to sunlight. You can also substitute milk with half cup curd to prepare this pack.

7. Green papaya for sun tan on hands – It’s a common problem to all those who use two-wheelers for daily use; sun tan which affects the beauty of hands. We commonly use green papaya to prepare side dishes like Kichadi and Thoran. You can also use the same papaya as a quick remedy for sun tan on hands. Make a fine paste of a piece of papaya, ½ spoon turmeric powder and 2 big spoons of curd using a mixer grinder and apply on your hands. If you use this pack for 5 days continuously your tans will disappear.

8. Rose petals for reddish lips – Rose flowers are often used to make desserts. You can also use it for beauty purposes. When a rose blossoms in your garden, take a few fresh petals (soon after it blossoms) and grind them adding a little milk. Apply on your face and lips. Lips will improve in reddish colour and your face glows.

9. Vinegar to remove black colour of elbows – If you make pickles at home you can definitely find vinegar in kitchen. Take 2 spoons of vinegar and add 1 spoon milk powder and juice from ½ lemon. Apply this pack on elbows and wash it off after ½ hour. You can continue it for next 5 or 6 days to get better results. According to the intensity of darkness, you may continue it for a few more days.

10. Green spinach to remove paleness and darkness of fingers – Green spinach is commonly used to prepare thoran in Kerala homes. Take a little spinach leaves and make a fine paste. Add juice from half portion of lemon and mix it. Apply this pack on the back side of palms and also fingers. Continue this process for 1 week to see paleness and darkness of fingers gone.

11. Curry leaf pack to remove pimples – Malayalis can’t think of Kerala food without adding curry leaves, because it adds a distinct ‘Kerala’ flavour to its traditional dishes. You can also use curry leaves for beautiful hair, removing pimples etc. Rub a piece of red sandalwood (after dipping in water) and extract its paste. Add a few basil leaves and 2-3 curry leaves and make a fine paste. Apply on your face and wash it off after 20 minutes. It’s an excellent pack to get rid of pimples.

12. Natural pack after waxing your hands and legs – Add ½ spoon yeast and 4 big spoons of orange juice to 1 spoon honey and mix well. Add 1 spoon of organic coffee powder to it and mix again. Apply on your hands and legs (beneath knee). When the pack dries, sprinkle a little water and massage for a few minutes before you wash it off. You can also use it for normal purposes. It adds natural glow to hands and legs.

13. Shallots for hair problems – Crush 5 or 6 shallots and extract juice. Add one egg white, 2 small spoons of olive oil and make a paste. Apply this mixture on hair roots and scalp and massage using fingers for next 20 minutes. Wash it off suing cold water. This pack is a good remedy to itching of scalp, dandruff, dryness of scalp etc. You can use this pack weekly basis.

14. A quick remedy to remove wrinkles – Take equal quantities of rose water, glycerine and vinegar, and mix well. Use a brush to apply it on your hands and legs. When this layer dries, apply a second coating. Give a third coating when the second layer dries. When it dries, wash it off with cold water. If you do this process regularly, you can watch wrinkles disappearing.

15. Fenugreek for hair care – Fenugreek is added to fish curry and sambar to get an aroma and flavour. It’s an excellent product for healthy hair. Soak a few fenugreek seeds overnight and make a fine paste next day morning adding natural rice starch and egg white. Apply this pack on your scalp and wash it off after 20 minutes. You can also use hibiscus leaves to clean your hair.

16. Green tea to remove darkness of eye lids and lips – boil ½ tsp green tea in 1 glass water and allow it to cool down completely. Add two drops of honey and mix well. Take a little cotton and make ball shapes. Dip cotton balls in green tea and place on your eye lids, either sides of nose and lips. After 20 minutes gently rub those areas with cotton before you remove them. Wash your face using cold water, and continue the process for next 10 days. It removes darkness around eyes, lips and either sides of nose, and also provides you a refreshment feel.

17. Aloe vera for skin problems – Take the pulp of aloe vera and smash once using a mixer. Add raw turmeric paste (never use powder) and rose water and mix well. After 5 minutes, apply this pack on your face, and keep completely silent while wearing it. (If so the stretches may lead to wrinkles). When the pack dries completely, gently massage it and wash it off. It is a quick remedy to almost every skin disease.

18. Cucumber as face scrub – Blend cucumber using a mixer, and add a little rice flour or sugar. Mix it well and use as a face scrub. You can gently massage it and use it on a daily basis too, to get a glowing skin.

19. Oats as face pack – Soak 2 small spoons of oats in water for half an hour. Add 2 spoons of curd and make a fine paste using mixer. Apply this face pack and wash it off after 20 minutes. It removes the paleness of skin and improves skin tone.

20. Black gram to remove skin paleness – Black gram is most commonly used to prepare dosa and idli for breakfast. When you soak dal for making breakfast dishes, take two spoons of soaked dal and grind it separately. Add a little milk membrane and make a paste. Apply on your face and elbows. It removes darkness of elbows and paleness of face.

21. Oats to prevent scars and pimples – Take two spoons of oats and cook it adding water. Add 1 spoon tomato juice, 1 spoon cucumber juice, and prepare the pack. Also chop a few mint leaves and add to it. Use it as a face pack and wash it off after 15 minutes. It can block scars, marks, pimples, rashes etc.

22. Carrot pack for flower-like skin – When you grate carrot for halwa or upma, grate one separately and boil it in a glass of milk. Cook it in low flame till carrot is cooked well. When it cools completely smash it using hands and make a paste. 15 minutes before you bath, apply this pack on your whole body. It makes your skin soft. You can also add a pinch of cardamom powder to this pack to get a refreshing aroma.

23. To get rid of tiredness of face – Grind together a little ginger and garlic to prepare a paste, and add ½ spoon of honey to it. Mix it well and apply on your face. Wash it off using cold water after 10 minutes to get a fresh look. It also helps to get rid of tiredness of face. (Please note: Use this paste only if you are comfortable with the ingredients).

24. Yogurt – Cucumber face pack – Take a small spoon of yogurt, and add a small spoon of honey and ½ spoon lemon juice. Make a paste, and then add a little scrapped cucumber. Use it as a face pack and wash it off after 20 minutes.

25. Beetroot & potato for shining skin – Take equal quantities of the juices of potato and beetroot, and add a little rice flour to it. Mix it well and use as face pack. Wash it off after 20 minutes to get a glowing skin.
