Vasudev Sajeesh Marar – The child actor who played Mammootty’s son in ‘Puzhu’

Vasudev Sajeesh Marar is an upcoming young actor of Malayalam cinema, best known for playing Mammootty’s son in highly acclaimed ‘Puzhu’. He is a winner of Kerala state award for best child actor too. The movies – Kallanottam and Sullu bagged him the honour.

Vasudev Sajeesh Marar started appearing in ads at the age of 6

Vasudev’s birth place is Kannur. His father is into business. For the last 10 years, the family is living in Idapally, Kochi. He started appearing in ads at the age of 6. Apart from several advertisements, Vasudev has also appeared in a few reality shows. His family has wholly supported him in his career. In fact his mother and younger brother have appeared in bit roles in films, and his father in a few ads too. His father sent his pictures for audition since then.

He won Kerala state award for best child artist for the movies, Kallanottam and Sullu

He was studying in third grade when he earned his first film role – Gold Coin. Then he played childhood role of Vineeth Sreenivasan in Aby. It was followed by Vijay Superum Paurnamiyu, Gautamante Radham, Malik, Kallanottam and Sullu. He mostly played childhood roles of lead actors. He bagged state award through Kallanottam and Sullu. Yet he gained audience’s attention, playing Mammootty’s son in critically acclaimed psychological drama film Puzhu, directed by debutant Ratheena. He was studying in 9^th standard while acting in this film. Jailer is his latest release.

Vasudev in ‘Puzhu’

1. In the movie, Puzhu, his younger brother played the role of Appu.

2. When he went for the dubbing for his first film, he met Mammootty in the studio, and clicked a photograph with him. Later when he worked with the star in Puzhu, he showed that photo.

3. In his opinion, Mammootty talks a lot, cracks a lot too. He is extremely caring as well.

4. His pet name is Kichu. For his debut film as well as Puzhu, same name was used for his character.
