Tomato Chutney

Ingredients for Tomato Chutney:

1. Oil – 3 big spoons

2. Red chillies – 10

    Shallots – 20

    Tomato – 1

    Onions – 1, chopped

3. Salt – For taste

How to prepare Tomato Chutney?

1. Heat oil in a pan and add ingredients no: 2.

2. Sauté it well and take off from flame.

3. When it cools, make a fine paste adding salt.

4. Serve with any dish of your choice. It tastes best with dosa and idli.

Note: Red chillies, shallots and tomatoes are to be fried as whole while preparing this tomato chutney

Tomato Chutney – Recipe 2

Ingredients for Tomato Chutney:

1. Well ripen tomato – 2

    Onions – 3, small

    Ginger – ½ inch piece, made to a paste

    Red chillies – Approximately 10, after removing seeds

2. Oil – ½ – 3/4 cup

3. Salt – 1 small spoon

    Sugar – A pinch

How to prepare Tomato Chutney?

1. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 1 using a mixer.

2. Heat oil and sauté the above tomato paste.

3. When a thin layer of oil appears on the surface put off the flame.

4. Add salt and sugar and mix well.

5. When it cools, you can store this chutney in a jar and place in refrigerator.

6. This tomato chutney tastes best with dosa and chapatti.

Note: You can add more chillies if you want to get hot chutney. It’s only user’s preference.
