Thenga Muri - Kerala Chicken Snack

Ingredients for Thenga Muri:

1. Eggs – 7 

2. Oil – 1 tablespoon 

3. Onion – 2, finely chopped 

    Green chillies – 4, chopped 

    Salt – To taste 

4. Chicken – 150g, cooked with salt and turmeric powder 

5. Garam masala powder – 1/2 teaspoon 

    Pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon 

    Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon 

6. Curry leaves, Coriander leaves – A few 

7. Potato – 1 large, boiled and mashed 

8. Eggs – 2, beaten with 1 teaspoon cornflour 

9. Bread crumbs – As required 

10. Oil – For frying 

How to prepare Thenga Muri?

1. Boil the eggs and keep them aside. 

2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the third set of ingredients. Add the cooked chicken and sauté well. 

3. Add the fifth set of ingredients and sauté until the masala becomes fragrant. Stir in coriander leaves and curry leaves. 

4. Add the mashed potato to the masala mixture, stir well, and set aside. 

5. Shape the masala mixture into small balls and place one boiled egg inside each, wrapping it completely. 

6. Dip each wrapped egg in the beaten egg mixture, coat with bread crumbs, and deep fry in hot oil. 

7. Cut each one in half and serve.
