Saniya Iyappan – Malayalam film actress of ‘Lucifer’ fame

Saniya Iyappan is an upcoming Malayalam film actress and dancer. As a lead/parallel lead actress, she is best known for the works of Lucifer, Queen and Pretham 2, released in 2018-2019. A versatile dancer too, she was the second runner-up of D 4 Dance-D2 aired on Mazhavil Manorama. She shot to fame playing the role of a college student Chinnu, a rape victim and a cancer survivor in Queen. She has earlier worked as a child artist in Malayalam movies such as Balyakalasakhi, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Apothecary and Vedham. She has been promoted to lead roles and she played lead roles in Krishnankutty Pani Thudangi, Saturday Night etc. She played DQ’s niece in Salute

Saniya Iyappan was born in Kochi in 2002. Her first appearance before the public was for a dance reality show, D 4 Dance-D2, which helped her to earn immense popularity. 2014 film, ‘Balyakalasakhi’ marked her screen debut as a child artist where she portrayed the childhood role of Isha Talwar. After playing child roles in a few more movies, she made her adult debut as Chinnu in Queen in 2018 and rose to instant fame. Very soon she bagged a parallel lead role in the commercial hit, Pretham 2. She played a modern girl in the film, who takes anonymous character name ‘Shah Rukh Khan’ for a Facebook community.

Saniya Iyappan – Some interesting and unknown facts

1. She started learning dance forms at the age of three, and both her parents are also interested in dance.

2. She learnt Bharatnatyam for 8 years, followed by contemporary and western for reality show.

3. As a child she wanted to become a choreographer. Now she is concentrating on to a career as an actress.

4. Saniya was dissatisfied with the final result of D 4 Dance-D2, as she felt that she deserved much better.

5. She played Manju Warrier’s daughter in Lucifer, and her role as a teenager was well appreciated.

6. She showcased her talent as a dancer through one of the dance sequences of Pretham 2.

7. She is a die-hard fan of Dulquer Salman and wants to play his lead heroine role.

8. She played the childhood of Parvathy’s character Kanchanamala in Ennu Ninte Moideen.
