Sandeepa Dhar – Bollywood actress of ‘Isi Life Mein’ fame

Sandeepa Dhar is a film actress who appears in Bollywood films. She has done both lead and supporting roles, and has also appeared in a few item songs. She marked her acting debut with 2010 film, Isi Life Mein. Though the film opened to negative reviews, for her impressive debut, she earned a nomination at Filmfare awards in best female debut category, apart from a few more. She owns a successful modeling career and has appeared in TV ads of Head and shoulders, Tanishq, Santoor Deo, Pepsi, Virgin Mobile, Dabur etc. She is also known as “Santoor Girl”.

Sandeepa was born in Srinagar, Kashmir in 1987. Her younger days were spent in UP and Bangalore. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who took formal training from renowned artist Vani Ganpathy for 8 years, and she also learnt Jazz and Contemporary for 4 years from Shiamak Davar and Terence Lewis. She took to modeling and later joined films. Her cameo role as Anjali in Dabangg 2 and supporting character of Kriti Sanon’s sister in Heropanti got noticed. Though she appeared in a few more films, her career failed to kick off. Her projects like Firrkie got delayed. She appears in an item song for 2019 release, Kaagaz.

Sandeepa Dhar – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She is a Kashmiri Brahmin girl who has lived in Bangalore and Mumbai.

2. At the age of four, she watched Madhuri Dixit’s Ek do teen, and since then dreamt to become an actress.

3. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is her favourite film. Interestingly she was launched to films by Rajshree productions.

4. Though her debut film was a flop, it later received good amount of views in online platform and television, and still continuing to be a popular film.

5. Her co-star Akshay Oberoi also marked his film debut with Isi Life Mein.
