Sai Smriti – The female voice behind sensational Tamil song ‘Aasa Kooda’

Sai Smriti is an upcoming singer belonging to Tamil. She rendered her voice for the single ‘Aasa Kooda’ aside her younger brother, Sai Abhyankkar which became viral. She is the daughter of popular Tamil playback singers, Tippu and Harini. Her brother is already an internet sensation through Katchi Sera. Her voice was used in vocal chants in the same single also, which was her first recording ever.

Sai Smriti belongs to a music family

Sai Smriti was born to famous Tamil playback singers – Tippu and Harini as the eldest child. She was born and brought up in Chennai, where his parents established themselves as playback singers. Her younger brother released his hit first single, Katchi Sera in January 2024, followed by Aasa Kooda aside Smriti in June 2024. Needless to say, both became huge chartbusters establishing their career in music industry.

Aasa Kooda – The instant chartbuster of the siblings

After Katchi Sera became a huge hit, Sai Abhyankkar never planned that Aasa Kooda is going to be his second song. After finishing the song, Sai met his mentor Nagesh saying he has 4 tracks again of which last one is his favourite pick. It was Aasa Kooda and Nagesh agreed to do it saying, this is going to be a gamechanger. He created this song, provided vocals along with his sister, and the rest is history! Aasa Kooda was one of the most loved songs of 2024, crossing language barriers and many artists made cover versions in their respective languages.

Abhyankkar has already signed two Tamil film projects as a composer. The sibling sensation, a very rare phenomenon is already creating huge waves in music industry, especially Tamil pop, crossing language barriers. They have a very promising career ahead.

1. Smriti did her first recording with her brother and it became a smash hit. Before that her voice as used in vocal chants in Katchi Sera recorded on a phone in their living room.

2. Abhyankkar was more into music than studies where he comes up with minimum marks while Smriti is more education-oriented.

3. Smriti and Abhay never really fight, except small ones which are never serious. Though there are small fights, they forget easily.

4. Abhay gives emotional support to Smriti though she is the eldest. He’s really mature, who gives advice to his sister when needed.

5. Her brother gave two back-to-back singles in 2024 – Katchi Sera and Aasa Kooda.
