Rini Raj – Malayalam Television Actress of ‘Mangalyapattu’ and ‘Karuthamuthu’ Fame

Rini Raj is a popular television actress who appears in Malayalam soaps. She has also appeared in a few Malayalam films. She shot to instant fame after playing Balamol (Balachandrika) in the longest running Malayalam TV soap, Karuthamuthu. She plays the wife of Pradeep Chandran in the show. Her role as Myna in Mangalyapattu serial aired on Mazhavil Manorama was also well received. She is only a teenager who has just completed plus-two course and is currently pursuing her graduation through distant education.

Rini Raj hails from Kollam. She currently resides at Eenjakkal, Thiruvananthapuram. As an actress she marked her acting debut with the movie, Maramkothi in 2014. She played second lead in the movie. But the film went unnoticed. She got her first break to television shows while studying class 9. Mangalyapattu is her debut show, where she portrayed the lead character Myna, and her strong character was well noticed. It gave her more offers from television industry as well as films, and she marked her film debut in a lead role with Smart Boys.

Rini Raj – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She has appeared in two music videos of the album titled – Orma. She was a Class IX student then.

2. She played one of the three lead heroines of the movie Smart Boys and it was for the first time she was sported in the new-generation get-up.

3. Her powerful character Myna in Mangalyapattu made her a household name among TV viewers, followed by the series, Karuthamuthu.

4. She played a wife and a mother to a daughter in Karuthamuthu during her teens.
