Rice - Green Gram Payasam (Ari – Payar Payasam) recipe

Ingredients for Rice – Green Gram Payasam (Ari – Payar Payasam):

1. Basmati rice – 1 cup

    Green gram dal – 1 cup

2. Milk – 1 litre

3. White jaggery – 2 cups, melted

4. Sago – ¼ cup, cooked

5. Saffron – A pinch

    Edible camphor – A pinch

    Cardamom powder – A pinch

6. Raisins – 1 big spoon

    Cashews – 1 big spoon

    Ghee – For frying

How to prepare Rice – Green Gram Payasam (Ari – Payar Payasam)?

1. Fry rice and dal in a kadai and then wash them properly.

2. Pressure cook rice, dal, and milk for 10 minutes.

3. Add jaggery to it and keep stirring for 10 minutes.

4. Add cooked sago, and mix the contents well.

5. After a few minutes, add ingredients no: 5.

6. Mix the contents well and turn off the flame.

7. Fry cashews and raisins in ghee and decorate your payasam.
