
Ingredients for Prawns Coconut Milk Curry (Chemmeen Paal Curry):
- Cleaned prawns – 250 gm
- Chilli powder – 2 big spoons
Salt – For taste
Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon - Coconut oil – 2 big spoons
- Coconut milk – Extracted from half a coconut
- Pot tamarind – 2 big pieces
- Green chillies – 4, chopped lengthwise
Ginger – 1-inch piece
Shallots – 10, sliced thin
How to prepare Prawns Coconut Milk Curry (Chemmeen Paal Curry)?
- Marinate prawns using ingredients no: 2 and allow them to rest for a while.
- Heat an earthen pot and add coconut oil.
- Add prawns and fry them.
- Add coconut milk and allow it to boil.
- Add the pot tamarind and mix the contents.
- Continue cooking till the gravy thickens and a thin layer of oil appears on the surface of the curry.
- Add ingredients no: 6, boil for a few more minutes, and turn off the flame.
