Points to note while taking kids to parks

One of the best destinations for young kids during weekend or holiday is a park, where they can play and also feel relaxed. Most of the parks have instruments and toys meant for kids’ recreation. But such public places are not free of dirt, pollution and disease gems. When different kids use same toys and instruments which are not cleaned, there are more chances to get affected by diseases too. What are the points to be noted while taking kids to parks so that they can return back disease free? Here are a few points to note.

Better idea is to prevent than to cure

1. Before taking kids to parks, have them bathed. Many parents have the feel that kids can take shower after they play in dust and public places. But it’s not the right procedure. Kids may carry many disease germs which will easily transmit to other kids if they haven’t taken a bath. Soon after they stop playing, wash their hands, legs and face. Once you return from park, give them a thorough bath.

2. Water rides and pools can cause recreation water illness. Apart from polluted water, chemicals added to sanitize it can also cause harm to body. One such instance is red coloured eyes soon after bath from a pool. It may be due to the use of chemicals and how the body react to them. It can also cause discomfort to skin, eyes, nose, ears, throat and mouth. Condition may turn worse if it causes lung infection and if so, it needs quick attention of doctor. Best solution is to make him bath in fresh water soon after he returns from water pool.

3. You can reserve loose cotton dresses for kids that can be exclusively used in parks. Full sleeve top and long pants can be chosen. While washing them each time, make it germ free by dipping in disinfectant. Never wash such clothes along with other clothes. Dry under hot sun and iron it separately.

4. If your kid is injured while playing at park, wash it as early as possible. You can also carry some medicine as a sort of precaution just in case.

5. Never encourage kids to take snacks in between plays, while at park. Hands may be dirt because of soil, and if not properly washed before taking food, it can invite diseases without any hesitation.

6. Many have the habit to use hand sanitizer instead of washing hands using water. But remember, not just in kids but also in adults, excess use of hand sanitizer can cause skin allergy problems. Hands may lose their nature softness. So use them in emergency situations only.

7. If your kid is hygienic, not only he but also kids around will also be benefitted. When he sneezes, ask him to use a handkerchief so that kids near him won’t be affected.
