T. Sreenidhi – Playback singer of Telugu cinema of ‘Kannaa Nidurinchara’ fame

T. Sreenidhi is a Carnatic musician and playback singer of Telugu cinema. She has also composed and released two independent albums – Annamayya Pataku Pattabhishekam and Manidweepam in 2016. She started her professional career as a playback singer in 2012, though her singing talents were noticed in 2017 and later. She has done playback singing for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, N.T.R: Kathanayakudu, Shivam, Chal Mohan Ranga, Om Namo Venkatesaya etc. A child prodigy she started identifying complex Carnatic ragas and notes before she reached one year old.

T. Sreenidhi’s parents are musicians and Carnatic vocalists. Her father is a violinist also. She was born in Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1990. Her mother introduced her to the world of Carnatic music as a toddler, when she started humming ragas and keerthans in the form of lullabies and young Sreenidhi started identifying them at a very young age. Later she developed a keen interest in listening to music concerts and finally she made up her mind to embark a journey in the field of music. She took formal training under famous vocalist Nedunuri Krishnamurthy.

Though she began playback singing in 2012, she earned recognition only in the recent times. She sang the popular lullaby, Kannaa Nidurinchara aside V. Srisoumya in ‘Baahubali 2‘ which shot her to instant fame. Kathaa Naayaka and Bhantureethi Koluvu from N.T.R: Kathanayakudu, Okkarante Okkaru from Savyasachi, Akhilanda Koti from Om Namo Venkatesaya, Sarala Virala from Shivam are a few more popular songs.

1. As her husband’s name is Venkatesh, her name is often interchanged with Sreenidhi Venkatesh, a sound engineer from Chennai best known for her association with A. R. Rahman.

2. Grew up listening to lullabies, she got the big break in playback singing, after recording the popular lullaby – Kannaa Nidurinchara for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

3. She gave her first public performance at the age of 2.5.
