Rhea Chakraborty is a VJ turned actress associated with Bollywood industry. She has also done a few south Indian movies. She gained recognition as a VJ for MTV, and later started her film career through Telugu movie, Tuneega Tuneega in 2013. Same year she marked her Bollywood debut through Mere Dad Ki Maruti which opened to favourable reviews. She played lead roles in Sonali Cable, Bank Chor and Jalebi, and supporting roles in Half Girlfriend and Dobaara: See Your Evil. Emraan Hashmi-Amitabh Bachchan starrer Chehre is her upcoming release.

Rhea Chakraborty hails from a Bengali family settled in Bangalore. She was born in 1992 as the son of an army officer. She completed her schooling from Army Public School Ambala Cantt and Bachelor degree from Pune in mass communication and media. Her first appearance for any TV show was MTV India’s TVS Scooty Teen Diva in 2009, where she finished as first runner-up. Later she attended an audition conducted by MTV in Delhi, and got selected. Within a short time span, she gained recognition as a VJ, which also gave her early break to films.

Her debut film in a lead role, Tuneega Tuneega flopped in the box office. However she had her first Bollywood release same year, Mere Dad Ki Maruti. The comedy film opened to positive reviews, and she was paired with Saqib Saleem. After that she bagged the most popular role of her career, Sonali Cable. Since 2013 she has worked in Bollywood in regular intervals, and has portrayed both lead and supporting roles on screen.

Following the shocking incident of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, rumours surfaced that he was in a relationship with the actress. They were good friends and were spotted together in public. In fact hours before June 14, Sushant made a call to her, which she didn’t respond, and police is to record her statement. The last picture of Sushant with Rhea went viral over net following this unfortunate incident. In the photo snapped on March 11, 2020, they were spotted together outside a gym. The actors have never confirmed the relationship. The actress has always preferred to keep her personal life under wraps.

1. Her debut movie, Tuneega Tuneega also marked the screen debut of south Indian actor Sumanth Ashwin. Both the actors were launched to cine world by Aswin’s father M. S. Raju who directed the film. But the movie opened to negative reviews.

3. She is trained in martial arts. Once she has given a solid kick to the stranger after he tried to molest her, following a heated argument outside her building premises. It happened in 2014, and police investigated the case further.

4. She is a rumoured girlfriend of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

5. She is regular at gym and never skips her daily fitness routine.

6. On the occasion of 70^th birthday of director Mahesh Bhatt she shared a cozy picture with the director on her social media handle, for which she received a lot of trolls and bad comments. She responded that Bhatt is like a father to her.
