Mathi Kurukk (Sardine Gravy)

Ingredients for Mathi Kurukk (Sardine Gravy):

1. Sardine (Mathi) – ½ kg

2. Coconut oil – 2 small spoons

3. Fenugreek – 1 small spoon

    Ginger crushed – 1 big spoon

    Garlic crushed – 1 big spoon

    Green chillies – 2, split into 2

    Curry leaves – 1 big spoon

    Tomato – 1, chopped

4. Coconut scrapped – ½ cup

    Chilli powder – 1 small spoon

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – For taste

5. Rice flour – 3 big spoons

How to prepare Mathi Kurukk (Sardine Gravy)?

1. Clean fish and keep aside.

2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 3.

3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 4 and add to sauted contents.

4. Allow it to boil, and then add fish.

5. Stir the contents well, and cook fish till it’s done.

6. When gravy thickens, add rice flour mixed with a little water.

7. Stir your curry well, and reduce the flame.

8. Wait till gravy fully thickens, and blends well with fish.

9. Serve hot.
