Manushi Chhillar – Miss World 2017

Manushi Chhillar is a famous Indian model from Haryana who made her country proud after winning the prestigious Miss World title in 2017 after a long gap of 17 years. She is the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World, followed by Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999) and Priyanka Chopra (2000). She is a medical student who was pursuing MBBS at Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College Sonipat when she was crowned Miss World in 2017. After winning Femina Miss India 2017 she represented India at the most prestigious Miss World 2017 title at Sanya City Arena in China on 18^th November, 2017 and crowned as winner. After endorsing numerous brands, Manushi is planning to join Bollywood very soon.

Manushi Chhillar was born on 14 May 1997 in Jhajjar, Haryana. She was born at such an era of 1990s when numerous Indian beauties got crowned at different international beauty pageants after a big gap of decades. She was only three years old when Priyanka won the 5^th Miss World crown for India. Her father is a scientist and her mother is a science professor, and both are doctors. Manushi was doing her MBBS at Sonipat when she was crowned both Miss India and Miss World, and later she moved to Mumbai to continue her studies.

1. Manushi is a trained Kuchipudi dancer. She left Kuchipudi classes while studying in class 11 to concentrate on studies.

2. She has attended a course at the prestigious NSD.

3. As per rumours, she is to play Princess Samyutka opposite Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar for the upcoming period drama, Prithviraj Chauhan.

4. She also won the subtitle of Miss Photogenic in the Femina Miss India 2017, apart from winning the title.

5. Chhillar also won Beauty with a Purpose award at Miss World contest 2017.

6. Swimming, poetry and painting are her favourite hobbies.

7. She was the All-India CBSE topper in English, in Class 12.

8. She was voted as the ‘Times Most Desirable Woman of India’ in 2018.

9. If asked what she likes most about India, her answer is ‘Food’.
